WILDERNESS FIRST AID & CPR

All Wilderness First Aid & CPR training programs follows the Practice Guidelines established by the Wilderness Medical Society.

This program has three levels: Basic, Advanced, and Wilderness First Responder.

Basic Wilderness First Aid

We put tremendous effort into the hands-on realism of our wilderness courses.
We go so far as to run in-depth role playing scenarios with theatrical make-up!

Course Details:

This course is designed for anyone who may have to render care to an ill or injured casualty in the rural or wilderness setting. We teach you all that you need to know about the basics of packaging and transporting injured patients, as well as managing life and limb threats in remote environments. This course includes the prevention and treatment of common environmental problems like Hypothermia and Heat Exhaustion and Stroke.

Advanced Wilderness First Aid

Advanced Wilderness First Aid is a 40-hour course (or a 20-hour module if our Basic Wilderness First Aid has already been taken).

Course Details:

Building on the skills acquired in the Basic Wilderness First Aid course, the Advanced course focuses on fine skills such as wound closure techniques, advanced trauma & medical emergencies and joint dislocation reduction. More in-depth scenarios are presented throughout the course.

Additional Course Topics:

Wilderness and remote environments require specialized skills, equipment and training. Whether you are an outdoor recreation enthusiast, live or work in a wilderness or remote setting, or work as a professional rescuer.

Wilderness First Responder

The Wilderness First Responder program is an 80 hour course (or a 40 hour module if Advanced Wilderness First Aid has already been taken).

Course Details:

Building on the skills acquired in both the Basic Wilderness First Aid course and the Advanced course, the Wilderness First Responder program is a comprehensive course for wilderness professionals who may be required to render emergency care in a wilderness setting such as a wilderness guide or trip leader.

Additional Course Topics:

The focus of the course is to develop the leadership skills necessary to execute emergency care and possible evacuation from the wilderness environment.
