First Aid & CPR Requirements for College Students: What CPR Certification & First Aid Level Do You need to satisfy Your College Program Requirements?
You require a minimum of CPR Level "C" and Standard First Aid if you are a student in any of the following programs:
Aesthetician
Fitness and Health Promotion
Pre-Service Firefighter Training
You require CPR Level “BLS” and Standard First Aid - PLUS RE-certification EVERY YEAR - if you are a student in any of the following programs:
Practical Nursing Ontario College Diploma Program &
Nursing Honours Bachelor of Science Degree Program

Students enrolled in the above nursing programs must have completed Basic Life Support Level (BLS) CPR and Standard First Aid prior to commencing the program. CPR Level BLS has replaced the outdated HCP (Health Care Provider).
Students must renew their Level BLS CPR certification annually, as well as complete a mask-fit test renewed every 2 years.
Fully online courses will not be accepted within the program requirements, but, our Half-Online and Half-In-Class course does satisfy college requirements. You can learn more about our Half Online program here.
Paramedic Ontario College Diploma Program Students
This is a highly competitive program, so give yourself an edge!
Students must have completed a current Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Level CPR. You may find your course requirements state Health Care Provider (HCP) Level CPR - HCP is outdated and has been replaced by BLS.
This training includes theory and practice in artificial respiration, one & two person CPR, infant & child CPR, bag-valve-mask ventilation, defibrillation with an automated external defibrillator (AED), and other skills such as a mask fit test.
Fully online courses are not acceptable, but our Half-Online & Half-In-Class program does satisfy your requirements. You must be recertified each year.

We ALWAYS recommend you get Standard First Aid and BLS Level CPR (basic life support) certified.
Why?

That being said, if you want to choose a lower level of first aid and CPR for some reason, you may select CPR C or A at checkout or register for an emergency level first aid course.
